Aimpoint – targeting the future

An ethical hunting simulation, providing a perfect training situation for hunters. The simulator, together with a web and app game, generated a profitable and efficient platform for both sales and brand positioning.

Assignment:

To create an environment showing the quality and precision of Aimpoint’s red dot sights for hunting. But also, to provide a platform where hunters can improve their skills through an ethical an effective training platform.

Challenge:

To be a complement to actual hunting situations and at the same time offer an attractive alternative to training hours at the shooting range. To use MR and a realistic rifle or hand gun control to make the training as close to reality as possible, improving the user’s skills. Finding the right marketing channels to communicate the benefit of a simulated training environment.

Solution:

A totally reality-based environment where different wildlife sceneries are 100 percent authentic, including wind, sounds and light. Hunting situations include different kinds of animals such as wild boar, ducks and deer, all animals created anatomically correct in 3D. The user can also experience lifelike ballistics and examine the course of the bullet. Through gamification, a web and app game were developed to further strengthen Aimpoint's brand. This did not only attract new target groups to Aimpoint but it also generated successful PR.

Result:

The GAIM hunting simulator became so popular that it is now being sold as a complete training kit, with continuous development of new sceneries and animals. Using a web and app game in marketing has been efficient, profitable and created new business value. Thanks to this innovative solution, Aimpoint draws a lot of attention at exhibitions and events.
